This is by far the best boot animation you’ve ever seen: The history and evolution of boot animation

If you don't have a custom recovery or would rather apply the animation using a file explorer, then take a look at our guide on how to apply Android Marshmallow's boot animation, substituting the Marshmallow animation file with the one below.

Miyazaki's refusal to narrow down conflict to two or even three sides is refreshing, and quite admirable considering its target audience. The film's story does concern good versus evil, but they aren't manifested in simplistic ways. Each populace has its own motivations. Each conflict has its reason. Wars exist among man and against nature. Several stakes exist. Even death is hardly out of bounds. For much of the film, there is no one problem/solution. But despite this moral complexity for an animated film, it all fits Miyazaki's big picture, and in the end we see it.

It takes a deep wisdom and understanding of youth to be able to carry out this vision. To know that children will grasp and want to grasp his story and ideas. Miyazaki accomplishes this not only by his storytelling techniques, but also through his visual artistry. Like the very best of Japanese animation, there is a warmth and softness to his illustrations (thanks to his pristine watercolor motifs) that make it almost effortless for viewers to accept and acclimatize to what unfolds on the screen. It allows for his characters and narrative to "breathe" (and breathe deeply), with moments of contemplation and authentic feeling taking hold. Compare this to his contemporaries who have to rely on cutesy gimmicks, frantic pacing, or glitzy style to draw in audience interest.

With naysayers and skeptics eyeing Valve's latest venture into hardware, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a showcase for how well the Steam Deck can work, delivering mobile gaming, unlike anything we've ever seen. When you get your hands on one of these, or if you already do, hopping on a horse and exploring this open-world might be the best way to put the portable PC through its paces.

Often spoken of as one of the top ten flea markets in the country, if your dates coincide, this second-hand Mecca is unquestionably one of the best things to do in Nashville (even if you walk away empty-handed, purely for experiencing the sheer size and diversity of the market).

The Mongolians are some of the best horsemen in the world. The Hovsgol province includes the shores of the pristine and barely touched Lake Hovsgol, and the people of this province are one of the few truly nomadic groups still roaming this earth.

First released in 2001 by DreamWorks, the original Shrek movie paved the way for a new type of animated film. Shrek, a bad-tempered green ogre, begrudgingly finds himself on a quest to rescue a princess alongside a donkey who won't stop talking. Never before had we seen such an anti-hero take the lead. The Shrek movie franchise has witty dialogue, multidimensional characters, and unexpected surprises, catering to adults and children alike.

The best way to watch the Shrek feature films, short films, and television specials is in chronological order to follow the story's timeline and appreciate the character progression. Of course, it's not necessary to watch all the short films and TV specials to understand the storyline of the feature films. Still, it does provide some interesting insights, particularly if you're a fan of Puss in Boots, who has his own spin-off feature film and television show. To help you get started on a Shrek movie marathon, we suggest watching in the following order. If you've never seen a Shrek film, this article will provide you with an overview, but be warned there may be some spoilers!

Shrek, the first film of this hugely popular franchise begins with a green ogre named Shrek (Mike Myers), who is happy in his isolated swamp living a solitary existence. However, an invasion by fairy tale characters banished by evil Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) upsets his tranquil life. So he makes a deal to rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), so Farquaad can make her his wife and Shrek can get his swamp back. But Princess Fiona has a dark secret that threatens to derail Farquaad's plan. This film won the first-ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and put DreamWorks well and truly on the map.

If you're just not the type to stay quiet, you'll want to make deer noises. And this is best done with a good deer call. There are few deer sounds louder than those of rattling antlers. Natural shed antlers are great, but bulky. To save space and still raise an authentic ruckus, check out Da' Bonehead Rattle Call from Knight and Hale. It looks cool, sounds great and takes up little room in your pack.

But another thing you get is a share in the Bitcoin project. Not a share of actual stock, but still a chance to profit from the success of Bitcoin. If this digital cash thing takes off, then lots of people will want Bitcoin to use to buy sandwiches, and there will be a lot of demand for Bitcoin. But only 21 million Bitcoin will ever exist. So each Bitcoin will be more valuable as more people decide to use Bitcoin as their way to transfer digital cash.

When DreamWorks decided to make a sequel to 2011's Puss in Boots (now streaming on Peacock!), they knew the first movie's animation style wouldn't cut the mustard in an ever-evolving medium. "When Shrek first came out over 20 years ago, it was impressive to make everything move smoothly and look realistic, but audiences have grown more sophisticated," Joel Crawford, director of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, noted during an interview with Empire for the magazine's February 2023 issue (now on sale).

"In the opening, we use more hand-drawn techniques," Crawford said of the movie's hit-the-ground-running set piece, in which the titular feline in fashionable footwear battles a giant covered in moss. "When Puss is running on the rooftops, the motion isn't always super-smooth. That was important to us, to feel like this is a fairy tale that you're being dropped into ... There's no big plot point with the giant. His introduction is telling the audience to [keep] up with Puss and his everyday heroism."

You can use System Restore from the System Recovery Options menu. It's just like running System Restore normally, with one exception: System Restore can't create new restore points in this mode, so you can't undo a restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point, if one exists.

Inside the Duplicates album, you'll see duplicates listed in chronological order, with a Merge button beside each set. You can tap this button to merge duplicate sets into an individual photo. Even if you take two photos together that are very similar, Apple's merging feature will intelligently keep the highest detail and the most metadata, creating the best possible image.

You could previously do this using Markup's text insertion functionality, but that was clunky, and it involved several more clicks to get to and always positioned the text insertion in the middle of whatever page you were on, necessitating a drag of the text to the desired location.

Office of the former Colonial MagistrateMar Sara ColonyThree hours after colonial evacuationAdjutant: Your tenure as Colonial Magistrate is suspended, pending an official Investigation of your affiliation with the Sons of Korhal. Receiving incoming transmission...Jim Raynor: Hey, man. Arcturus' boys sprung me from the prison ship. Apparently, they're as frustrated with the Confederate as we are! I know their reputation, but they seem to be on the level. I think Arcturus wanted to speak with you...Arcturus Mengsk: Commander, Mar Sara is almost completely overrun by the Zerg. The Confederates are abandoning the planet, and so are we. However, there is one thing I'd like to do before we leave.Arcturus Mengsk: I want you to raid this colony's Confederate outpost and retrieve whatever design or weapons' schematics that you can find in their networks. With the chaos of the Confederates' evacuation, you shouldn't have any trouble getting in or out of their installation.Jim Raynor: I'm into it.

Secret Staging AreaSecond moon of Antiga PrimeJim Raynor: Hey, man. Headquarters has begun analysis of the discs. They expect to have them decoded shortly. I hope whatever's on those discs is worth it.Adjutant: Receiving incoming transmission from Arcturus Mengsk:Arcturus Mengsk: You and Captain Raynor have done well, commander. I believe our efforts have weakened the Confederacy's grip on the fringe worlds, but our job out here isn't done yet. Lieutenant Kerrigan, my second in command, will elaborate.Sarah Kerrigan: I'll get straight to the point. Our sources tell us that Antiga Prime is ready to begin open revolt against the Confederacy. Unfortunately, the Confederates seem to be aware of this as well. They've stationed a large detachment of Alpha Squadron troops there, under the command of General Duke.Arcturus Mengsk: It will be your job, Commander, to free this colony and show our good intent to the Antigan people. Lieutenant Kerrigan will help you deal with Duke's officers. The rest of the Confederates are yours to deal with.

Sarah Kerrigan: (completed establishing a psi-emitter) Psi-Emitter in place. Just promise me we'll never do anything like this again.Arcturus Mengsk: We will do whatever it takes to save humanity. Our responsibility is too great to do any less.

They seem to be heading on a direct course to the primary Zerg Hive.Arcturus Mengsk: If they engage the Zerg, the Confederates may escape. Commander, send Lieutenant Kerrigan with a strike force to engage the Protoss. Captain Raynor and General Duke will stay behind with the command ship.Jim Raynor: First you sell out every person on this world to Zerg, then you ask us to go up against the Protoss? And you're goin' to send Kerrigan down there with no backup?Arcturus Mengsk: I have absolute confidence in Kerrigan's ability to hold off the Protoss.Jim Raynor: This is bullshit. Kerrigan, are you reading this?Sarah Kerrigan: I heard. I'm going down there. Arcturus knows what he's doing. I can't back out on him now.Jim Raynor: Funny.
